Attention Parents and Guardians of TGSL Players,
I would like to take a moment to remind each and every one of you to have a frank discussion with your player(s) and explain that the Taunton Girls Softball League has a "Zero Tolerance Bullying Policy" (take a look at the patch on their uniforms), a Social Media Policy, a Players and Parents Code of Conduct (see below for full details) and an explicit Disciplnary Policy.
If the league discovers that any player or parent explicitly or implicitly violates any of the league's policies then they will be held accountable for their actions by the eBoard and that their actions may lead to suspension or permanent expulsion from the league.
Please make it crystal clear that once your player puts something out on Social Media, whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Text Message or any other social media avenue that there is no way to take it back.
T-H-I-N-K BEFORE YOU SEND!
You can find the Taunton Girls Softball League Disciplinary Policy by clicking on the link below:
Taunton Girls Softball League Disciplinary Policy
I have a sincere hope that we will not have to use any of the punishments outlined in our Disciplinary Policy but thought it necessary to remind everyone that playing softball with Taunton Girls Softball is a privilege, not a right, that can be taken away if the Board feels that anyone is contributing to making it a non-friendly and hostile environment by violating any of the League's Codes of Conduct or By-Laws.
Should you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to speak with any member of the Board, email me or talk to me in person before or after any game or practice I am at. I am pretty much at the fields seven days a week so just ask and you should be able to find me.
Sincerely yours,
Michael Peckman (on behalf of the eBoard)
Program Director, Taunton Girls Softball League
